Steve Dwyer has enjoyed a productive first term as a South District Court judge. Working in conjunction with the court's other judges, Steve has seen policies implemented which reflect his individual and judicial philosophy of personal accountability. In criminal cases, these changes have resulted in defendants missing fewer court dates, convicted defendants serving sentences and paying fines on a faster, more certain, basis, and prosecutors dismissing unwarranted cases earlier in the judicial process.

In civil cases, new procedures have allowed for a ten-fold increase in jury trials without any additional delays or need for new staff. These efficiencies better serve both the parties to the cases and the people of the county.

Steve Dwyer has now spent 15 years as an elected official -- four as a judge and 11 as a member of the Edmonds City Council. He has a great affinity for our community. He is honored to have the opportunity to continue his service.
