Political Philosophy for Donald D. "Don" Rollins

Candidate for
Member of the State Assembly; District 73

My basic philosophy is that you as an individual are best when left alone by Government.

We have lost sight of what the founders of this country envisioned, limited Government.

Today we have the choice between two socialist parties, the Democrat and the Republican. They are not at issue as to whether or not you *need* to be controlled by big brother, just how it will occur.

We need to reduce, at virtually all levels, the intrusion that the State has exerted into our lives.

My first filter on any law that comes across my desk will be whether or not it meets constitutionality for both the Federal and State constitutions. That ought to eliminate 75% of the 1,500+ laws that the State considers each year.

My second filter will be whether or not it increases or decreases freedom. Your personal freedom. If you want to pass a law restricting anothers freedom of choice, no matter how *well intended* I will not be your ally. However, remember I will protect you from someone else making that same decision for you, even when I think that restricting you might be a good idea.

If you want to be a tool of the State, then I am a bad choice. If you want to be free from the State, then I am the only choice.
