Candidate for City Council Member; City of Cathedral City

Being a Planner Commissioner for the past 4 years has been a great experience and has given me insights into many areas of our community. I see a need to begin turning our attention to the development of new projects-a balance of residential and commercial growth to the North . I also see a need for repairs and maintenance of our city streets and to increase our park space. With growth comes services. Police and fire protection are critical and I will work to not only retain our level of service but to make our police and fire departments the best in the valley. How you ask? While I am not an expert in governmental accounting, I do have 20 years experience in running small non profit communities. I also bring 17 years as a successful businesswoman. Small business is the backbone of this city. As private citizens we do not have bottomless wallets neither should government. In business, the way to meet budget is to increase revenues and hold expenses. I believe our city should do the same. The way to increase revenues is through economic development. Planned economic development is the key to our future. We must plan and balance residential and commercial growth. We need to develop more projects to the North and strenghten the business that have chosen Cathedral City as there home. My goal is to increase revenues thereby ncreasing tax dollars and decreasing our personal taxes.I want to make Cathedral City remains developer and business friendly as we chose our next projects. I want to move Cathedral City forward into the new millineum. It is the duty and responsibility of all of us to join together to build respect as we face the future in a diverse society.
