Position on The Issues:PUBLIC SAFETY Because of his known concern for public safety, the Huntington Beach Police, Firefighters, and Marine Safety Officers have endorsed Peter. Public Safety is one of his highest priorities. BOLSA CHICA Peter is pleased the entire Bolsa Chica wetlands have been saved with no tax dollars. More than 90% of the entire Bolsa Chica will be open space forever. He would prefer the Mesa be saved also if a buyer could be found and the landowner would sell. SENIOR CENTER A location must be identified and funding sought for new Senior Center and Peter feels it can and will be done. HUNTINGTON CENTER Peter feels the center must be re-designed, renovated, and made more attractive to visitors and shoppers WAL-MART Peter wants a Wal-Mart in Huntington Beach, but is opposed to the present design. He feels it must be made more neighborhood friendly. YOUTH SPORTS Peter feels that youth sports facilities are long overdue in central park, and he will support this project if elected. SANTA ANA RIVER BRIDGES Peter feels these proposed bridges over the Santa Ana River must be removed from all county and city transportation maps. INFRASTRUCTURE REPAIRS Peter thinks the need for infrastructure repairs is crucial. A 50-person citizen committee will soon make recommendations about this important issue. |
