Full Biography for Sandie Franklin GonzalesCandidate for |
Involvement in my community has always been important to me, especially as 7 of my 8 children have attended our public shools here in Saddleback Valley Unified School District. As a former educator, I know what needs to happen in the classroom. As a parent I know what parents want to see happen in the classroom. As a taxpayer, I know how taxdollars should be spent for education. Volunteering in my children's classrooms was a great experience both for me and my children. It gave us the opportunity to share a crucial time in their lives. Serving on the executive board of Jr. All-American Football has also given my children and I some very special memories. AYSO was another sharing opportunity for our entire family. My husband and I, along with our children have been residents of SVUSD for more than 18 years. We moved to this area because of the excellent reputation of the public shcools. I belong to the League of Women Voters; Women For: Orange County, and am a past member of Mission Viejo Historical Society. I have volunteered on Grad Nite at both MVHS and Los Alisos Intermediate. I also belong to the Women's Coalition of Santa Ana for Orange County. I am a past member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children, and served as the chair of the San Diego chapter's newsletter. I have given seminars and workshops for NAEYC. I believe in strong academics and accountability on the part of teachers and administrators for student performance. As a customer relations and marketing director, I have the skills to work well with individuals as well as groups. I will be available to parents, students, teachers, and community members. |
