It takes more than just sitting on the board and offering your opinion and your yes or no vote. It takes more than just visiting school campuses. It takes active leadership and being actively involved in current educational issues. My record shows I am actively involved in education at CUSD.Increased CUSD funding by leading the successful grassroots efforts to pass equalization legislation that entitled CUSD to an additional $4.6 million in funding. Improved parental involvement by reorganizing the Capistrano Unified Council of PTSAs Legislation Committee. Chaired the District's Attendance Boundary Committee in 97-98. Received the Capistrano Council's "Unsung Hero" award presented by the PTA for work on equalization, school facilities funding, child advocacy, and educationg the Capistrano Unified community about legislative issues that affect our children and schools. |
