Political Philosophy for Lou BoneCandidate for |
Character counts. Tustin deserves council members with integrity, intelligence, common sense, and knowledge of city issues. The words of Samuel Johnson are still appropriate for today's world. "Integrity without knowledge is weak and useless, and knowledge without integrity is dangerous and dreadful." Our free enterprise system works best when private property rights are respected, regulations are limited, and taxes are low. The main priorities of city government should be the safety of its citizens, the maintenance and improvement of infrastructure, and the prudent use of taxpayers' money. Tustin police must be provided with the resources they need to keep our citizens safe. Borrowing $1 million to enlarge a single park that is within walking distance of two other parks was an irresponsible act on the part of our city council. Water rates have continally increased, but Tustin's water reservoirs have been allowed to deteriorate. Taxpayers deserve better. We need to seriously consider privatizing the water system. Roads must be reconfigured to provide for a growing population and increasing commercial development. Tustin deserves a city council that can plan for the future. |
