My primary goal for the next four years is to increase property values and quality of life in La Palma by:

1. Maintaining the superior level of police and fire protection without increased cost to the citizens.

2. Continuing the city's financial stability through wise budgeting, strong commitment to retain existing businesses, and attract new sourcess of revenue to the city.

3. Continuing to beautify the city's streets, buildings, and public areas.

4. Continuing education of citizens concerning city codes and their enforcement.

5. Continuing to bring the city's diverse cultures together through the recreation department programs, community organizations, and partnerships with the local schools.

I am proud of my accomplishments over the past four years. Some of the the most important are:

1. Guiding the city successfully through the Orange County bankruptcy without cuts in public safety or severe cuts in recreation programs and public works service levels.

2. Keeping the library open and extending operations to five days a week.

3. Helping to create a partnership with the City of Cypress to build a roller hockey rink at Arnold Cypress Park convenient for La Palma residents.

4. Serving as a member of a council that:

a. Eliminated the $71.00 per household Landscaping & Lighting District assessment on property taxes.
b. Increased youth and communtiy programs and volunteer opportunities for all citizens.
c. Initiated programs to enhance the beauty of La Palma's arterial streets and public areas.
d. Took action to create an open enrollment policy for all school-age children.
e. Improved the aesthetic appeal of neighborhoods by upgrading our ability to enforce codes and educate citizens.

I have always been an council member who has listened to the La Palma citizens.
