This information is provided by the candidate |
CANDIDATE STATEMENT FROM BALLOTI have lived and worked in the Tustin community for over 25 years. My husband and I have 3 daughters who attended TUSD schools.
As a tax and estate planning attorney, I advise clients on financial issues. My professional skills have helped the TUSD School Board formulate sound fiscal policy. I have consistently insisted on balanced budgets and preservation of capital.
As a long term incumbent I have led the TUSD school board in making positive changes. These include:
Implementing rigorous academic standards and curricula;
Reducing all K-3 class sizes;
Insisting on phonics based reading instruction;
Managing enrollment growth by opening or reopening four new schools;
Successfully establishing a fundamental/GATE school of choice;
Enforcing a strict zero-tolerance policy to ensure campus safety;
Continuing a successful English only policy;
Conservatively managing a 60+ million dollar per year budget while maintaining a healthy reserve;
Listening to the community by encouraging widespread involvement on Citizen Advisory Committees;
Supporting youth sports by implementing a joint use policy for playgrounds and fields.
Please vote for me, Jane Bauer. I am an experienced board member with proven leadership skills who listens to the community.
