Why Do I Want To Be On Mesa Consolidated Water District Board

By Jamal Awad, Ph.D., P.E.

Candidate for Director; Mesa Consolidated Water District; Division 5

This information is provided by the candidate
The Water District faces many water resources and water quality challenges. Having a District's Board with relevant experience to provide guidance to District staff is invaluable.
I am appealing for your vote for the Mesa Consolidated Water District Board. I have been a resident in Costa Mesa for over 5 years, and aware of the District's water supply and quality issues. I want Costa Mesa residents and my family to be able to drink "safe and good-tasting" water from the tap everyday. I want to achieve the following main goals for residents of Costa Mesa including:

SAFE DRINKING WATER WITH GOOD TASTE AND NO COLOR OR ODOR

RELIABLE DRINKING WATER STORAGE DURING EARTHQUAKES

FRESH WATER IN STORAGE RESERVOIRS AND WATER PIPES

BEST TAP WATER AT LOWEST COST

The District is developing groundwater with high organic matter that requires advanced treatment. Establishing the most cost effective treatment options that produce the highest quality water is critical to our community. Having a District's Board with relevant experience to provide guidance to District staff is invaluable.
