My political philosophy and priorities for the next four years are best shown by what I have accomplished during my first term in office. I will continue working hard to keep MMWD on track in these areas.

  • Voted to rescind Prior Board's Rate Increases

  • Implemented a hiring freeze

  • Restructured MMWD

  • Reduced the budget

  • Strenuously opposed the 1997 rate increase!

THE ENVIRONMENT:

  • Ended the 14-year legal battle with state environmental authorities over Lagunitas Creek

  • Implemented far-reaching fishery restoration program

  • Maintained and expanded aggressive water conservation programs, while stabilizing long-term water supply

  • Supported strict water quality standards to ensure our water is free of MBTE and other toxins

PUBLIC SAFETY:

  • Committed over $1 million for new fire hydrants and other fire fighting measures

  • Spearheaded Measure L "fire flow" campaign, which fire chiefs have called the "most important public safety measure in the last 20 years"

  • Supported aggressive implementation of Vegetation Management Plan to reduce risk of catastrophic wildfire.
