Full Biography for Lisa R. King

Candidate for
Governing Board Member; Rosedale Union School District

I am a Bakersfield native and have lived most of my life here. Geoff and I have 3 children; Matt (15) graduated from Rosedale Middle School in 1997, Jennifer (11) and Alyssa (9) attend Almondale Elementary. I have been a volunteer both in the classroom and at many school activities, and have served as PTC Treasurer and on the School Site Council at both Almondale and Rosedale North. I have also volunteered as a soccer and softball coach and for church programs. I am a 1978 graduate of CSUB and actively support their athletic programs; I have served on the Intercollegiate Athletic Advisory Committee there for 3 years.

I am now completing my first term as a Trustee for the Rosedale Union School District. I have been very active, attending many district functions. I was also involved during recent contract negotiations, serving as an observer during most bargaining sessions. I have learned a great deal during this time and hope to use this knowledge to continue improving our educational program during the next 4 years.
