Full Biography for Christopher G. Wilson

Candidate for
Superior Court Judge, Department Two

Christopher Wilson was born in Eureka in 1957, growing up in an atmosphere where family was of great importance. Chris was raised in the home his grandfather built and was surrounded by a loving extended family. In fact, six generations of his family, including his own children, have lived in Humboldt County. Chris attended local schools including Washington Elementary School, Zane Jr. High, and graduated in 1975 from Eureka High School.

In 1981 Chris graduated with honors from California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo. His college career was diverse, beginning at Humboldt State University and including a year overseas in the CSU International Program. Chris obtained his law degree from the University of Oregon in 1984.

Even before graduation he embarked on a path that would lead him into his career as a trial attorney. He was certified to appear before the United States District Court and prosecuted offenses for the United States Attorneys office.

After graduation from law school, Chris was appointed a judicial clerkship where he had a opportunity to observe and assist in the work of several trial court judges. He then went to work in Bend, Oregon where he maintained a heavy trial schedule. Chris moved back to Humboldt County to be near family in 1988. He worked for the firm handling the "conflicts contract" for indigent defense, eventually managing that contract and related personnel.

In 1992 Chris opened his own office where he still works, appearing every day in court. Chris works with another attorney, in a varied, busy practice which includes criminal, civil, and family law. He is sworn as a judge and an arbitrator in the Court's family law division.

Chris lives in McKinleyville with his wife Linda and their two children, Bryan and Taylor. He enjoys the combination of outdoor activities and time with his family. He coaches soccer, participates in a number of youth activities and is an avid sponsor of youth sports teams.
