- The proposed Ordinance adopts procedures for collecting a hotel occupancy
tax. The tax is ten percent on room rates for persons using lodging space
in any hotel for not more than 90 consecutive days. Hotel owners are
required to collect the tax and pay it to the City's General Fund. The
Ordinance contains penalties for delinquent payments and for delinquent
reporting by owners. The Ordinance will not become effective unless
approved by a majority of voters.
