Measure A Unification of School Districts -- Caruthers Union High School District

Shall the territory of the Caruthers Union High School District be unified without affecting the Alvina, Monroe, and the Raisin City School Districts and such new unified school district be governed by a five member Board of Trustees elected by the voters of the territory at large with each trustee to reside in a respective trustee area?

Shall Ordinance No. 98-011 of the Fresno County Board of Supervisors be approved to provide needed funding to maintain local public libraries; to expand the current collection of books and materials; to restore operating hours in the evenings, weekdays, and weekends; and to provide literacy and other library services for children, adults and seniors by imposing a sales tax at the rate of one-eighth of one percent for a maximum of 7 years?

Shall the City of Fowler be authorized to implement a Utility User's Tax of five percent (5%) upon residential users of electricity and gas, three percent (3%) upon commercial, industrial, and agricultural users of electricity and gas, and five percent (5%) upon all users of telephone service in the City of Fowler, with the tax terminating on January 1, 2006, as set forth in Ordinance 98-2.

In order to provide students with access to classroom computers and modern technology, repair and upgrade classrooms for student safety, build new classrooms to expand course offerings, construct and expand school libraries, and repair classroom heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, shall the West Hills Community College District issue $19 million of bonds with an interest rate below the legal limit for repair, improvement, construction and acquisition of classrooms and facilities?

Measure H Hotel Occupancy Tax -- City of Mendota
365 / 51.3% Yes votes

The proposed Ordinance adopts procedures for collecting a hotel occupancy tax. The tax is ten percent on room rates for persons using lodging space in any hotel for not more than 90 consecutive days. Hotel owners are required to collect the tax and pay it to the City's General Fund. The Ordinance contains penalties for delinquent payments and for delinquent reporting by owners. The Ordinance will not become effective unless approved by a majority of voters.
