Political Philosophy for Tony MillerCandidate for Lieutenant Governor
|
Government is not, inherently, the enemy. In a democracy, government is us. I believe government is a tool to, in the words of Escullys, help “tame the savageness of man and make gentle the life of the world.” However, if government is to be open, honest, responsive and effective, we, as citizens, must be fully engaged in the formulation and the implementation of its policies. And we must eliminate the domination of the process by big-money. The fight for meaningful campaign finance reform is a fight for the very soul of democracy. We must create a system based on one person one vote and not one dollar one vote. And that is why I'm running for Lt. Governor. |
