October 31, 1990, Governor George Deukmejian appointed Ron Kreber to the Bench of South Orange County Municipal Court in Laguna Niguel, California. This honor was awarded to him based on his relentless investigation and prosecution of major felons and his extensive efforts in the field of protecting victim's rights. Judge Ron Kreber's reputation is that of a no-nonsense, but fair Judge. Judge Ron Kreber also served as a Los Angeles Police Officer from 1963 to 1972. During his service he rose through the ranks to that of Sergeant of the Homicide Division. Judge Ron Kreber worked as an Orange County Deputy District Attorney from 1972 to 1979. In 1974 the District Attorney of Orange County appointed him to serve on the first established Narcotics Task Force. He prosecuted violent felons for conspiracy to transport, sell and distribute dangerous and deadly drugs as well as other major felonies. He was awarded Prosecutor of the Year for his service on the Task Force in 1974. During his tenure with the District Attorney's Office he served as an Advisor to the Grand Jury from 1978 to 1979. Following his appointment to Municipal Court Judge, he was appointed by the California Judicial Council and the California Judges Association, to serve as an instructor to incoming new Judges in the areas of complex Civil and Criminal litigation. Judge Ron Kreber currently instructs new Lawyers on behalf of the Orange County Bar Association on these same subjects. Judge Ron Kreber is responsible for updating Police Officers of various Orange County Law Enforcement Agency's throughout the year on laws surrounding Search and Seizure. Judge Ron Kreber has involved himself with High School mentoring programs and addressing many of the County's service organizations on current and pressing topics of concern in their communities. In 1995, Judge Ron Kreber was honored as Municipal Court Judge of the Year by the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association, citing his service and dedication, as did the Orange County Hispanic Lawyers Association for his contributions. Judge Ron Kreber is also proud to say that he served his Country as a United States Marine. Judge Ron Kreber and his wife Virginia have had the privilege of raising their three children in the community of Laguna Beach. Judge Ron Kreber volunteers his time and efforts to programs such as Laura's House, Laguna Beach Youth Shelter and numerous others. Judge Kreber was the Chairman of Volunteers for CSP Youth Shelter in 1995 and 1996. He has been the Chairman of the Charity Golf Tournaments since 1980. He also participates as the Moot Court Judge for High Schools and Law Schools.
