My husband Mike and I own The Kastrop Group, Architects, based in Redwood City.
We have two sons. Jack is in second grade at Orion, and Clint is in Open Gate
Nursery School.

My volunteer activities focus on encouraging community participation in the
local schools--both through parental and business involvement. If elected, I
will continue to strive for broad based community support for our schools.

As a business owner, I know the importance of independent judgment and fiscal
conservatism. I will bring this knowledge to the School Board. I will ensure
that the building projects funded by the recent bond measure are handled
efficiently. It is imperative that the new classrooms and libraries be built
promptly.

I am committed to raising academic achievement levels and providing safe, high
quality facilities for students.

I believe that a strong public school system is essential to the future
prosperity and safety of our entire community.
