Having been raised on a ranch, I appreciate the rural environment of Woodside. When you consider that Woodside is located between San Francisco and San Jose, it is amazing that our Town has retained its unique quality. As we approach the next century, we must work hard to ensure that Woodside stays this way.
In protecting Woodside's environment, we must take a common sense approach to protecting the rights of residents. We need to reform a well intentioned, but confusing set of ordinances that are used to control the size of houses in our Town. We can achieve the same result by setting both a maximum height and footprint. This way we avoid having monster houses, but allow people some freedom on what they do with the inside of their house.
