For over 40 years, I have owned and successfully operated businesses in fields such as auto dealerships, real estate and ranching. During that time I satisfied customers, created a team of spirited employees, cut expenses, met payrolls and balanced budgets. Now I want to use my experiences to help manage and guard Woodside's tax dollars. Recently, I opposed Measure K, the utility tax, because it called for an increase in taxes to improve our roads. I know that we can repair and maintain our roads, without raising taxes. Over the past few years, I have studied the Town's budget and have identified areas where we can consolidate and coordinate efforts so that we can reduce spending. One such area is to increase the use of technology and the Internet to reduce the costs In addition to using new technology, we need to be cognizant of our human efforts as well. As Councilman, I will push for detailed job descriptions of each employee so that we decrease duplication and overlap of effort.
