Eleanore Hahn Age: 55 Occupation: Businesswoman/Director, BCWD Education and Qualifications: "Coming together for a better Belmont" is my platform for the Belmont City Council. I believe the citizens of Belmont have great ideas toward making our City a better one ... and I support your bringing ideas to me as a council member. Background & Experience: * Belmont Homeowner, eleven years * Elected Board Member, Belmont County Water District * Appointed Representative, San Mateo County Chapter of Special District Association * Corporate Career, thirty years, management of people and organizational areas (including allocating and tracking a multi-million-dollar- budget) * Real Estate Broker * Member, Belmont Chamber of Commerce * Member & Board Member (past), Belmont Heights Civic Improvement Association * Board President (past), The Knolls * Member, "The Ninety-Nines, Inc." International Organization of Women Pilots As one Director of Belmont County Water District (BCWD), I initiated and/or supported the following: * Formed citizens committee to preserve the "Little People" fire hydrants without sacrificing safety and identification of hydrants in emergencies, * Formed citizens committee to study and recommend short-term and long-term project financing, * Streamlined personnel operations, * Moved to pay-for-performance compensation plan, * Relocated the operations yard from residential neighborhood, and * Supported annexation by City of Belmont of those portions of Harbor Industrial Area that are serviced by BCWD. My career experiences and background allow me to examine issues from varied perspectives -- my strength is in considering any and all input to avoid "top-down" decision-making. I speak freely on behalf of, and in support of, my community. Many residents are aware that I accept nothing as a "given" untilÜ * all questions have been asked and answered, * all facts revealed, and * all avenues traveled toward reaching a positive result. Belmont (beautiful mountain) in the last century was a Village with some large estates, and has today evolved into a desirable community on the Mid-Peninsula in which to live and work. My IDEAL is to retain the Best-of-Belmont as we grow into the next century. By participating as a candidate for the Belmont City Council, I am giving you a choice -- choice of a candidate who considers the welfare and interests of the citizens of Belmont. I bring fiscal responsibility as well as my honesty and integrity to the Council. I respectfully ask for your vote on November 4th, so that collectively we can work toward COMING TOGETHER FOR A BETTER BELMONT. /s/ Eleanore Hahn
