By living in Millbrae for almost three decades, by raising his family here, and by serving as Director of the Millbrae Historical Society, Dan Quigg has seen that Millbrae became and remains a great city; because it is a place where people can raise not only their children, but also their grandchildren. Unlike other nearby communities, Millbrae is the type of place where you can walk down Broadway and always run into someone you know. People you pass on the street stop to say hello and ask how you are. It is truly a special place, much different than the urban-suburban sprawl that surrounds this Place in the Sun.
However, Millbrae has also been a vibrant City, which is full of life and ready to meet the challenges of the next century - today.
Dan Quigg will keep Millbrae moving forward while maintaining the special qualities that make Millbrae such a unique place to live. Mayor Quigg wants to see progress that is planned and not out of control. Mayor Quigg wants to rejuvenate the downtown area in order to restore its image as a great place for Millbrae citizens to shop and dine with their families and friends.
Mayor Quigg will also make sure that new development is confined to certain areas and that the effects on traffic and the surrounding neighborhoods are limited. Mayor Quigg has already taken steps to make sure that the planned expansion of BART will not destroy the quality of life in neighborhoods that are adjacent to the expansion.
